Pasta has no accounts, no ads inside the app, and no third-party trackers. Your training lives on your iPhone. The app checks in with our servers for feature flags and configuration, counts — anonymously — whether our App Store ads work, and the only personal information that ever reaches us is what you choose to send: messages in support chat and, on this site, the email you give us for the beta.
Workouts, training plans, goals, exercise history, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone (and mirrored to your Apple Watch by Apple's device-to-device sync). We run no account system and keep no copy. If you back up your device, your training data rides along inside your own device backup — that's between you and Apple.
Your free trial is tracked by Apple's signed install record and a small record in your device's secure Keychain. Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. Apple's servers do notify ours when a subscription starts, renews, or ends, keyed by an anonymous transaction number — never your name, email, or card — and we keep that record to keep your access working and to count subscriptions.
With your permission, Pasta reads Health data (like heart rate, resting heart rate, and workouts) to show your effort, compute readiness, and personalize training — and writes the workouts you complete back to Health. This happens on your device. We never receive your Health data, and we never use it for marketing, advertising, or analytics, or share or sell it to anyone. You can change Pasta's Health access any time in the Health app.
Pasta generates workouts and plans with Apple's on-device and Private Cloud Compute models — your requests are handled under Apple's privacy terms and are never sent to us.
Voice input is transcribed on your device. Audio never leaves it.
To know whether our App Store ads are worth running, the app asks Apple — once, when Pasta is first installed — for a signed attribution token: Apple's privacy-preserving way of saying whether the install came from one of our ads. The app sends that token to our server with a random installation id minted on your device, and nothing else. Apple's answer is campaign-level metadata ("this search ad, this keyword"), never anything about you: no name, no ad identifier (IDFA), no tracking across apps or websites — it's designed to work without tracking permission because it can't follow you anywhere. We discard the raw token within a day, keep only coarse counts and timestamps, and the random id connects to nothing else we hold — a reinstall simply mints a new one. If you found Pasta without an ad, the answer is just "no ad", and that's the whole record.
Everything in this section is optional, and none of it happens unless you start a conversation. The in-app support chat sends us exactly what you write in it. If you choose to attach debug logs, the app shows you what's included and asks first — logs cover app events and never your Health data. If you enable notifications, Apple gives us a push token so replies can reach you — an opaque, app-specific identifier that can't identify you or follow you across apps. We use all of this only to help you, keep it only as long as the conversation matters, and delete it if you ask.
pppasta.com sets no cookies. To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and doesn't follow you across other sites. It also runs on the main pages of build.pppasta.com, our workout builder, but never on a workout or plan link someone shared, so Cloudflare never sees those links. Our web servers also keep standard access logs (IP address, page, referring site and browser) for 14 days. We use all of this only to understand traffic to our websites. The App Store buttons on both sites carry a campaign tag, so App Store Connect can tell us, in totals only, how many downloads came from each.
If you requested a beta invite, we kept the email you entered (with our database host, Supabase) only to contact you about the beta. Ask, and we'll delete it.
Pasta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date. Material changes will be called out in the app.
